BRENDA O’NEILL SCHOLARSHIP DRAW

Enniscorthy Credit Union, with offices in Enniscorthy, Ballymurn, Murrintown & Taghmon, prides itself on the contribution it makes to our local community and the members it serves therein.  Part of this contribution is our annual Scholarship Draw for intending college students who are members of Enniscorthy Credit Union.

Our 2023 Scholarship Draw is open to ALL STUDENTS, IN ANY YEAR!

To take part the student must be attending or commencing a full-time course of at least two years duration with an education body that is recognised by the Department of Education (Ireland) or Internationally for Overseas Students, and be a member of Enniscorthy Credit Union.

If you are not a member, you must be eligible for membership and join Enniscorthy Credit Union before the closing date.

There is a draw for Third Level and PLC Course Students with some great prizes as below. There is a separate form for each draw. If you are not in, you can’t win!

FREE SCHOLARSHIP DRAW

THIRD LEVEL PRIZES*

  • Winner: €1,500 per year – for max 3 years
  • Runner-up: €1,000 per year – for max 3 years

*subject to passing exams and continuing the course

PLC DRAW PRIZE

  • 1st Prize €500

HOW TO APPLY FOR THE THIRD LEVEL DRAW

  • The Enniscorthy Credit Union Scholarship is open to any student in a full time Third Level Course that has minimum 2 year duration, including Postgraduate degrees.
  • The Scholarships are for 3 consecutive years, or such shorter term where the course is of less than 3 years duration.
  • Applications must be accompanied by a letter from the college verifying student’s registration. Please Note: A CAO OFFER IS NOT SUFFICIENT EVIDENCE TO QUALIFY FOR THE DRAW
  • Download the form below – fill in and email to together@enniscorthycu.ie, post to Enniscorthy Credit Union, Abbey Square, Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford or drop it in to your nearest Enniscorthy  Credit Union office.

HOW TO APPLY FOR THE PLC/LEVEL 5 DRAW

  • The Enniscorthy Credit Union Scholarship is open to any student in a full time Third Level PLC Course that has minimum 1 year duration.
  • Applications must be accompanied by a letter from the college verifying student’s registration.
  • Please Note: AN OFFER FOR PLC/LEVEL 5 COURSE IS NOT SUFFICIENT EVIDENCE TO QUALIFY FOR THE DRAW
  • Download the form below – fill in and email to together@enniscorthycu.ie, post to Enniscorthy Credit Union, Abbey Square, Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford or drop it in to your nearest Enniscorthy  Credit Union office.

RULES & INFORMATION

  • Applicants must be a member of Enniscorthy Credit Union.
  • Applications must be completed in full and signed by the applicant.
  • One application per student is permitted to be entered into the draw
  • Members can apply any time up to the Closing Date of  Saturday October 28th 2023.
  • Early applicants will be contacted for Proof of Registration in September/October 2023.
  • The 2023 draw will take place on Tuesday November 14th 2023.
  • Eligible entrants will be notified by letter in advance of the date of the draw.
  • Any student, in any year of a Third Level/PLC Course in 2023 are eligible.
  • The Scholarships are for 3 consecutive years, or such shorter term where the course is of less than 3 years duration.
  • Applications must be accompanied by a letter from the college verifying student’s registration. Please Note: A CAO OFFER IS NOT SUFFICIENT EVIDENCE TO QUALIFY FOR THE DRAW
  • Applicants may apply for second and subsequent years of study even though they may not have applied in an earlier year of the course.
  • Unsuccessful applicants may re-apply in subsequent years.  Those awarded a scholarship may not enter the draw in subsequent years.
  • The winning candidate will receive the sum of €1,500 annually, runner-up €1,000 annually in the form of one payment paid out in November each year.
  • Should a successful applicant fail to enter their second or third year of study, or opt out of college within 3 years, their participation in the Scholarship will terminate.
  • Written confirmation of course attendance will be required prior to any payments being made in Year 2 or 3 of the course.
  • Credit Union officers, volunteers and their immediate and extended family members are eligible to enter the Scholarship Draw.
  • The Scholarship Draw will be overseen by an independent observer.
  • The decision of the Board of Directors of Enniscorthy Credit Union will be final on all matters relating to this draw.
