Delays to payments 15-17 March 2024

Delays to payments 15-17 March 2024

Monday, March, 11th, 2024 in Credit Union News

From Friday afternoon 15th March – Monday 18th March 2024, the European SEPA Payment Schemes will undergo a mandatory change.  All Irish banks and credit unions may experience delays in payment processing over this weekend.  As a result, SEPA payments (Euro payments across Ireland & the EU) made on Friday 15th may not be credited to the beneficiary account until Monday March 18th and may not appear in customer accounts over the weekend as is the case normally.  The Irish Banking Community advise all customers to make payments on Thursday 14th March or early Friday morning 15th March to ensure that the beneficiary account is credited on Friday.

What this means for our members is, any payment you send or receive in euro, to or from other banks or credit unions between the 15th and the 17th may be delayed until Monday 18th March.  If you want to be sure that your payment gets to the recipient on Friday please send it on Thursday 14th March.

Payments or transfers between your account in Enniscorthy Credit Union or to other members of Enniscorthy Credit Union will not be affected.
